An example step by step:

Download "ver5048.rar" unrar

Goto "RISC" folder and copy one of the RISC codes from dir eg. : "8M_B_C" to main "RISC" folder.

Place the compiler files "MTK1389_source_compiler.rar" downloaded from chineese forum or mt13x9 group somewhere like: "C:\C51"

Now in Environment Variables in System Properties you must add:
Variable name: C51PATH
Variable value: C:\C51

That way this path is used for all source compiling.

Now to make a full firmware with just the standard values goto the "8032" dir run "DO.BAT" - dont mind the warnings main thing is that it makes "8032bx.hex" and "8032bx.omf" files.

Next run "mg.bat" and you will end up with 1 file: "target.bin" this is your compiled firmware.

You can goto "8032" folders, where all the source is located, you can change the parts you want and compile. One of the main files are: "vendor.h" where many overall setings are made like chipset, DRAM size and much much more.

Hope you can make it work and do some nice modding. Also other doc's are very welcome.

Thank you so much for this guide. Everything is very clear and well explained.

Hi! I did compile two firmwares from the same source (one with and the other without hdmi) for comparing purposes... :D

Question: How do I change the compiled servo library?

So far I have only changed the used servo lib by renaming files to hd60.xxx - I am very sure there is an easy way.

Thanks! I will try it.

By the way, did you have the servo libraries I uploaded? I wasn't sure if they were posted here before...

No need to mess up with Environment Variables. Anyway, it wont work in most cases :-(
The easiest way is to open your DO.BAT file in notepad and add a first line like this:

set C51PATH=C:\C51

You can use any path you want.I suggest to stick with C since many scripts inside 8032 use this path as granted!

I have few questions about servo part. There are two folders in 8032:
servolib and
servolib_D

Which one of them is a real servo folder? Do they have to include exact same files inside? Is one of them irrelevant? Can anyone give me exact example of files I should have in those 2 folders?

And what about fonts,OSD languages, logos, icons? Where do they sit in 8032 folder? How can they be changed before compiling?

Thanx in advance! I hope I helped you with this C51PATH :-)

Hi you can pass the servo to use as an argument to the do.bat file, for exemple in ver5048 I did a compilation for khm280 like this :
>do khm280
